Finding a Color Match for Old Parex Elastomeric Paint

Debbie reached out about finding a color match for her home that was painted years ago with Parex 415 Elastomeric paint.

Question from Debbie: My stucco house was painted in 2012 with Parex 415 Elastomeric paint. I believe the color was called Cream. I can’t find a match now. Are you familiar with this color? The window trim is Moonstone and the small half circle above the windows is their Limestone color.

Parex 415 Elastomeric Paint Question 2

Answer: I checked the current Parex color chart on their website (here), and Moonstone and Limestone are still listed, but there’s no “Cream” listed under that name anymore. It’s possible the color was renamed or replaced over the years, which sometimes happens when manufacturers update their lines.

Your best move would be to get an updated Parex color chart and do a quick onsite comparison in natural light. If you can still see areas of the original color that haven’t faded as much, that’ll help you narrow it down. If nothing looks close, you could also have a small chip of the existing color scanned and color-matched at a paint store or stucco supplier.

Since all finishes can fade or slightly change tone over time, matching by name alone doesn’t always give perfect results, but with a fresh chart and a side-by-side comparison, you’ll get very close.
