4 Stucco Finish Coat Calculators | Revolutionize Your Next Project!

Stucco Finish Coat Calculators

Feel free to explore the three different calculators below to get a rough idea of how many bags or buckets of stucco finish material you will need for your next project. All you have to do is put your total square footage into the calculator, choose how many coats will be applied to the wall, choose form a traditional or acrylic finish material and hit the calculate button. That's it. I hope it helps some of you out there.

Quikrete/Sakrete Premixed Stucco Finishes

The premixed bags of stucco finish (Quikrete & Sakrete) that are found at Home Depot and Lowes are typically 80 pounds and if you read the data sheets, they both state that they can cover around 70 square feet of wall space at 1/8" thick. Feel free to check out the PDF spec sheets for Sakrete and Quikrete, if you want more information on the application process.

Calculations are set to 65 sq. feet to allow for variations in application method, ambient temperature, dropped product, etc.

If a dash finish is being applied, add 15% to the calculated number.

* Yield will vary based on many different factors such as material composition, application method, ambient temperature, finish chosen and other factors.

LaHabra's Stucco Finishes

LaHabra has a traditional (cement based) finish which weigh 90 pounds and an acrylic finish material (65 pound buckets) that they offer.

The yield for each material differs, depending on the type of finish you are applying and how fine or coarse the material is, so I went with an average square footage for each material. You can check out the data sheet for their color coat finish and acrylic finishes for more information on yield information.

Calculations are set to 135/130 sq. feet to allow for variations in application method, ambient temperature, dropped product, etc.

If using smooth acrylic option, divide number of buckets by 2. If a dash finish is being applied, add 15% to the calculated number.

* Yield will vary based on many different factors such as material composition, application method, ambient temperature, finish chosen and other factors.

Omega's Stucco Finishes

Omega stucco offers both traditional and acrylic finishes and if we look at their data sheets, we can see that the data for the Colortek (cement based finishes) has an average yield of around 135 square feet per 90 lb. bag and their acrylic data shows average yields of around 125 square feet per bucket.

Calculations are set to 135/125 sq. feet to allow for variations in application method, ambient temperature, dropped product, etc.

If using a fine aggregate option, divide number of buckets by 1.5. If a dash or coarse finish is being applied, add 15% to the calculated number.

* Yield will vary based on many different factors such as material composition, application method, ambient temperature, finish chosen and other factors.

Western's Stucco Finishes

Western Blendded stucco also offers both traditional and acrylic finish options and if we look at the data sheets for these products, we can see that the specs for the exterior stucco finish (cement based finish) has an average yield of around 90 square feet (90 lb. bag) and their PAF (acrylic) shows average yields of around 100 square feet per bucket.

Calculations are set to 90/100 sq. feet to allow for variations in application method, ambient temperature, dropped product, etc.

If using a fine aggregate option, divide number of buckets by 1.5. If a dash or coarse finish is being applied, add 15% to the calculated number.

* Yield will vary based on many different factors such as material composition, application method, ambient temperature, finish chosen and other factors.

Limitations: These calculators are made to give you a general idea of the amount of material you will need. There are so many variables that come into play that can affect the yield of finish stucco materials that making an exact guess as to how much you need is hard.

I did not include any calculators for Dryvit or STO products because the yield amounts for their products were so spread out. I was not able to find an "average" figure that I could go with and have it be accurate, so I decided to scratch these two options from the list.
